80. Spring Park

Springs Park consists of a wooded ravine with walking paths and a small creek fed by springs. It was designated on the original plat map for this section of the West End development.

Prior to the West End, when the land was part of the farm of Johann Christian Wilhelm Fries, the springs supplied water for Fries’ main house and slave house, which are believed to have stood near the present-day junction of Summit and Manley Streets. (WEPH, SH)
