The next meeting of the West End Association will be held on TUESDAY night, 23 May, starting at 6PM in the West End Room of the William White YMCA.
Representatives from the NC Department of Transportation (Pat Ivey, Division Engineer for Division 9 of NCDOT) and Winston-Salem DOT (Connie James, Deputy Director of Transportation) will come to discuss the project and answer questions. We have asked them to specifically address our questions about proposed detour routes during the closure of Bus 40 starting in Fall 2018. Final routes to be signed as detours are not ready for release but they have said that First Street through West End and Second Street through the Holly Ave neighborhood will NOT be designated detours with signs. Council member Jeff MacIntosh will also attend the meeting. His new newsletter has some information about the project. Please let neighbors and friends know about the meeting!
