Officials from the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools will hold an “interactive meeting” regarding proposed safety improvements to be made on the stretch of Northwest Boulevard between Hawthorne and Reynolda roads, between RJ Reynolds High School and Wiley Middle School.
The proposal includes plans for a fence on the west side of NW Blvd to discourage pedestrians from crossing the street at locations without crosswalks. The plan will limit the number of crosswalks across NW Blvd. The plan calls for improved pickup and drop-off areas for students arriving by car and by bus. Additional parking will be added along NW Blvd.
